LTSF Receives Generous Support from USA Funds

The Lawrence Township School Foundation is pleased to announce that USA Funds has continued its support of the district's AVID Program (Advancement via Individual Determination). USA Funds donated $70,000 this year, in addition to funding $60,000 for this program last year.

AVID is in place at Belzer, Craig and Fall Creek Valley Middle Schools, and Lawrence Central and Lawrence North High Schools. The program is designed to focus on the average student who has the capability to do more, but perhaps does not have the guidance or vision to see their potential. AVID supplies the counseling, skills and support system to move these students into advanced college-prep courses. AVID has an 85% college graduation success rate. Over 93% of Lawrence Central's first class of AVID graduates are attending college!

the MAC

The Lawrence Township School Foundation announces a brand new program, “My Achievement Centers”. the MAC is an academic achievement center open to all high school students during study hall. The goal of the MAC is to assist students more personally in their education process. the MAC will offer easy access - with or without a referral - and is open to students at all academic levels. Centers will open at limited capacity in both high schools on October 3.
