Guests walked the red carpet at the Downtown Marriott as they entered the Lawrence Township School Foundation’s 9th annual Gala on April 17th. Over 450 guests enjoyed socializing, live and silent auctions and dancing to the music of Living Proof. Organizers estimate that the event raised net proceeds of $75,000, including over $11,000 to provide creative classroom grants next year.
"Even with this challenging economy, our community understands that our children’s education takes center stage," said Jan Keefer, Gala co-chair. "With the community’s support, the Foundation will continue to enhance the educational experience for Lawrence Township students."

Gala Cash Raffle Winner!
Helen and Roger Pryor, Lawrence Township parents, supported the Foundation by purchasing several Gala cash raffle tickets and they were the lucky winners of the $10,000 grand prize!
Roger stated, "we our pleased to support the wonderful work being done every day by the LTSF! We have found our experience with both Amy Beverland Elementary & now Belzer Middle School to be one of both character-building excellence for our son -- and a collaborative partnership with his educators. The weather was fantastic for the Foundation's 23rd annual golf tournament on Thursday, June 4th at
Old Oakland Golf Club.
A full field of forty-seven foursomes turned out to enjoy a day of golf and support the education of Lawrence Township students. Net proceeds are estimated to be over $23,500.

2nd annual Dads & Lads Sports Spectacular
Friday, February 20, 2009
250 participants gathered to compete in sports competitions and have lots of fun at Sports of All Sorts/Snapperz.
Competitions included basketball, baseball & obstacle course, but there was plenty of time to enjoy lots of other activities:
bowling, cornhole, dodge ball, fencing, soccer, and the added attractions of a rock climbing wall and bungee trampoline.
Special presentations included the Coach Jack Keefer and the Lawrence North basketball team, St. Vincent Sports Performance Conditioning Institute and All Pro Dads.
Ed Martin Automotive Group displayed a 2009 Corvette and a modified race car and kids enjoyed exercising their minds with activities from Learning Rx.
Prizes were awarded to the top 3 places in age categories.
Thanks to the generosity of Circle City Tickets and many other donors for providing great prizes.
Event proceeds are estimated to be over $6,500, which will help provide innovative educational programs for Lawrence Township students.

Community Investment Luncheon
Lawrence Township business leaders kicked off March Madness at the NCAA Headquarters on March 20th. One hundred fifty guests gathered to learn how they can make an impact on our children's education. Hosted by Gerry Dick, Inside Indiana Business, the group heard first hand how Foundation-funded programs are making a difference. High school students gave personal accounts of their own success stories due to support from the AVID college preparatory program (Advancement Via Individual Determination) and the MAC (My Achievement Center) tutoring centers. USA Funds, represented by Henry Fernandez, received an award in recognition of its generous financial support for the AVID program.

Teacher Recognition Celebration
This annual event honors and celebrates our wonderful Lawrence Township educators. Service awards are presented as well as special recognition for 25-year teachers. A great GT South's meal is served while the teachers get a chance to mingle with their co-workers.

Evening of Giving
The Lawrence Township School Foundation benefits from the annual Simon Evening of Giving. This fund raising event is a fun-filled night of private holiday shopping and family entertainment. There are store discounts, raffle prizes, beverages and hors d’oeuvres from local restaurants and a special appearance by Santa.
